Public Pier at Cheung Chau Pictures

The public pier at Cheung Chau is an impressive canopied structure which is both functional and attractive and serves as a meeting place for the community. Under its white covers you will find people waiting for the varies boats and small ferries, as well as older people sitting and watching people walk by.

The sampan to Sai Wan docks here, as do the regular small ferries to the Sea Ranch on Lantau and many other small craft. Visiting pleasure junks and yachts dock here, though only briefly as there is often a queue of boats waiting to berth and everybody must take their turn.

In the evening it is common to see people sitting at the pier chatting and even singing. As well as the steel benches provided by the government many people have brought their own chairs to sit here!
