Fast Ferry in Cheung Chau Harbour Pictures

The Fast Ferry to Cheung Chau is a twin hulled or catamaran. This makes it fast and stable, much more so than the old ferries it replaced. The ferries have double decks, all inside, with airplane style padded seating. While fast and comfortable they do not let you sit outside or really experience the trip as a voyage.

If in a hurry they are a great choice, but if you want to make the trip to Cheung Chau part of the experience consider instead the 'slow' ferry which gives you outdoor views. Certainly a better choice for at least one of your trips if the weather is good.

In bad weather or when time is tight though the fast ferry wins as the better options, even though the price of the ticket is more, about double the amount.

Both kinds of ferries are non-smoking, even on the outside observation deck of the slow ferry, have toilets and soft drink vending machines. The fast ferry toilets are cleaner and there are facilities for the disabled and for baby changing, which is not true of the slow ferries.
